Built in 1830, a fire at the “LaLaurie Mansion” revealed a torture room where 7 mutilated slaves were found, sparking widespread outrage.
The discovery led to a mob attacking the mansion and rescuing surviving slaves, while investigators later uncovered additional buried bodies on the grounds.
Despite the history, Cage purchased the home in 2007 then lost it 2 years later due to foreclosure when it sold for $2.1m.
